The battle between the worlds

By Slowly Bury

OK! Its been awhile now since I left off. Well More like SEVERAL months. My 1st life engulfed me with the basic 2o-something tasks: College, Finishing My Film, Work, Socializing...Stuff. A few weeks ago when I had finally made it back on to the grid, after about a Month or Two Hiatus, I did the normal, Skin-Check,Shape-Check,Fashonista-Check, Blog-_____. My blog. The blog that started some months ago, when my sister and I were having a discussion on SL behaviors. I blogged furiously then it stopped. The battle had begun, but this battle was a NO battle as 1st always wins. Anyway... Back to my story. So after I had made the necessary upgrades to Slowly B, I was ready for some pixel action. I headed out to this cool little Blues Joint called Tony's and would meet a fellow blogger who inspired me to break out the pen cam. I told my comadre I was in the battle, surprisingly enough he enjoyed my witty little explanation, and suggested I use it for my come back. My "Muse" also gave me some wise advice, he said that no matter write SOMETHING and be consistent. We continued the conversation with the normal blah, blah, blah and then departed our separate ways. Yes I know lag. However! Stay tuned TOOLS! I have some really exciting stuff I have been working on for the past week!
I shall formalated and have Dementia revise it, I have been having some spelling and grammar issues lately(whole nother topic). The battle is over for now... till next time.

Strange topic

I am trying to maintain a diplomatic opinion on this topic. Truth of the matter is I do think it is bizarre. Now before you cast judgment hear me out. Many years ago, when the idea was very new and it was extremely taboo to have a prim baby and to be a "child" avatar; I conducted a social experiment(sorta), I got my self a pregnant shape and conducted all my business as a pregnant avatar. I would go to adoption agencies and see what they were all about, they seemed very underground at the time. The reactions I received were very mixed ranging from, utter disgust, congratulatory but most of all curiosity. As a matter of fact I was interviewed by a reporter from the Second Life Herald about my "pregnancy". Never had a chance to read that article but based on the questions alone it was a very bias stand point. After awhile i did ditch the shape, socially it was getting me nowhere. It subjective me to negative behaviors from other avatars, some of which looked at it as a sexual fetish. Another thing I notice when interacting with "child" avatars was the sexuality involved in the "RP", this to me was disgusting and to bizarre for me to even take , but that is a whole other issue. Needless to say I left that world alone. A year or so later when I made my way back on to the grid I was in AMAZEMENT on how may people were taking part of this "RP". Something that had once been so "Taboo" had made its way into the "main grid". I did try and investigate this more recently but the same feelings of weirdness overcame me. There were now animations of birth, talking tummies and clinics devoted to this new revolution. After witnessing far too many You Tube birthing videos, I again have to leave it alone. I have to say that on a social stand point it is something that is becoming more socially accepted and hey I guess whats good for the goose is good for the gander, so they say. My point is this I personally find it to be strange "RP" something that I personally would not want to participate in; However, If someone does that is completely up to them I cannot say whats right or wrong for them, so be it. Same thing for the Furrys, Vamps,Amazons,Gors, Spiders, Lycans, Mermaids, Fea and other spacey creatures not for me but WHATEVER. -Que Sera-

Genesis

By: Slowly Bury

After two years of exploring the grid I have seen and been subjected to lot of bizarre behavior. Digging into the archives of my mind I can remember my rezz. It didn't take me long to get out of the safety of Orientation Island and onto to the mean streets of second life. I was fortunate enough to meet a man(who now that I recall probably wanted to screw a noob) that so generously gave my first Linden, 500 in fact. SCORE! I quickly got the hell out of there before it became to weird and headed out to do my ultra favorite past time, SHOPPING! My first pair of prim shoes came from Sascha Ogg's store. I remember walking in and two lady avatars were in live chat talking about how Ms. Ogg was a fake, a rip off, a pirate! I recall plenty of other avys in the building and had noticed one thing, and have always, no one said anything to agree or disagree with what they were saying. So, Having that newbie-ness in me I walked right up and asked who they were talking about. One of the lady avys quickly said Ms. Ogg had stolen from "only the best designers in SL", at the time. WHATEVER! I resumed my shopping. I bought a pair of black pumps and when it came for me to figure out the box it was all over. I went back up to the lady avys and told them "She must really be a crook! All I got is a box!??" -sigh- The lady avy told me "If that's all you got you better let her know." After about 20 minutes I figured out how to find the owners information and proceeded to write an eloquent IM to Ms. Ogg, explaining the details of my trouble and heartache and how I needed a refund. Ms. Ogg so graciously got back to me,a day later, and explained the box was not just a box but held the contents I had purchased and explained the process of rezzing. WHAT??? Now the two lady avys looked as though they had sometime behind them but instead of offering more information to a newcomer, continued with a dumb-ass convo in the middle of the chicks own store. WTF??? As you can see in this story there are many things awfully wrong with the behavior that some tend to give off, and still its prevalent if not worse!!

Fast Forward 14 months. After about 6 months on the grid, I had met people and done things which were not totally me and subjected myself to tons of NOOB abuse, I took a break. A long one ,a 14 month one. ha ha. When I connected again last October(2008) I was still in the same condition, poor shape, bad skin and just overall perplexed. I couldn't get a job in this condition. So I did the next best thing. Using about 10 USD, I reinvented Slowly Bury. Talk about a transformation! Pretty soon people were talking to me, I had jobs and couldn't go ANYWHERE without some random avy dude, some times lady(dude?), hitting on me. My Second Life was starting over again. Now if only I could reinvent my 1st Life self for 10 bucks! In my 5 months back I have done a number of things, again some in not to proud of (SL marriage), but that is a whole other topic. Theses days I host,at a very classy joint, model and do my own photography. My SL is seemly perfect, payment info on file, nice apartment in the sky and just utterly sexy. Still some things bug the shit out of me like behaviors and high prices. Yes I will say it! Most of the shit is ugly and over priced and I plan saying something. Also, Avys watch what you say you also will be on candid camera. =) Sound fun... good.

-Introduction-

Ok, so we have been on SL (for those of you who don't know, SL=Second Life; i.e. the game from hell.) for over two years. I say "we" because, this is a joint effort. Along the way, we both have seen/heard ( if you can call it heard) some things that we both are just like, "WTF?". So the purpose of this blog is to share with you, the viewer, what we have come across in our SL journey so far. Now it won't always be pretty what we are writing, actually, I'd say about 90% of it won't be pretty but we feel that these things need to be pointed out. However, this blog won't always be about "bitching" we will also showcase good deals, nice hangouts, and genuine goodness that SL offers.

But just to let you know, that YES we are expecting tons and tons of hate mail/asshole-ish remarks/etc. And YES we are prepared. So go ahead and say whatever you feel, we really don't give two shits anyhow.

Also if you have something to contribute, feel free.

Thanks and Enjoy
